Sorting Station |
Sorting Station![]() Kerbside recyclables collected by Mr.Binman are transported back to our facility in Luddenmore and tipped into a storage pit prior to processing. The Opti-bags are conveyed from the storage pit to a the sorting station via a automatic bag opener.
The loose dry recyclables pass alone a large conveyor belt termed a picking line. Up to twelve operatives are stationed along either side of the conveyor belt beside chutes which lead down individual storage bunkers for each dry recyclable material.
The picking station is overhanging the floor at a height of 4.5 m. Storage bunkers for cardboard, newspaper/magazines, mixed papers, plastic bottles, mixed plastics, beverage cartons and metal cans are suspended from this picking station. Once these bunkers are full to capacity they are conveyed to balers where they are baled. They are then stored and transported to reprocessing facilities for further recycling.
