Mr. Binman Repak Recovery Operator of the Year 2009

 

On October 15th 2009, during Repak Recycling Week, Mr. Binman was named “Recovery Operator of the Year 2009”

at the annual Repak Recycling Awards. The award acknowledges Mr. Binman’s outstanding performance in the area of

recycling and waste management. This is the third time winning the award, first won in 2004 and again in 2005.

A Certificate of Excellence was presented to Mr. Binman by Novelis Recycling.  This certificate recognises the consistent quality

of our aluminium cans that we recycle with Novelis. We are the first company in Ireland to be presented with this certification in 6 years.

Mr. Binman Ltd. is a Repak Registered Service Provider. Indeed, our efforts in have been recognised by Repak in their awarding to

us of the title, “Repak Packaging Recovery Operator of the Year” in 2004 and 2005. 
  

Mr. Binman Ltd. is a large waste recovery operator based in Luddenmore, Co. Limerick. The company is owned and managed by the
Sheehan family, father and son Martin Snr. and Martin Jnr. 

Mr. Binman Ltd. employs over 150 staff and operates one the most advanced and well equipped waste management and recycling facilities

in Ireland. The site is licensed by the EPA and three environmental officers are employed on a full-time basis. Operations are organised to

handle all non-hazardous waste and packaging material types with a current capacity of 100,000 tonnes.

The company services over 40,000 customers in the Limerick, Clare, Kerry and Tipperary areas. All domestic customers can avail of a

free of charge kerbside dry recycling scheme.        

The company has expanded both its customer base and plant capacity rapidly over the last few years and is now one of the largest

independent recovery operators in the country. The company also operates a large modern glass processing facility on its site.

We were very proud to have won the award for the second year in succession in 2005. Mr. Binman is a family run business based in

Luddenmore Co Limerick managed by Mr Martin Sheehan senior and junior. The company, which was established in 1993, employs

almost 200 staff and has a turnover of over €30 million. Mr. Binman’s facility has a capacity for 100,000 tonnes of commercial material

and also services 50,000 domestic customers in the midwest region. As well as a Material Recovery Facility the company also

operates a Glass Processing Plant and services many bring banks on behalf of the local authorities in the midwest. Good quality

documentation, clear audit trails and well prepared claims combined with a good business plan have helped Mr. Binman win this award again.
