Cardboard
e.g. Cereal Boxes, Kitchen Roll Tubes



 


Plastic Bottles

e.g Soft Drink bottles, Mineral Water bottles, Washing-up liquid bottles, Shampoo Bottles, Yoghurt drink bottles, Milk bottles





Tetra Pak/Drink Cartons

e.g. Fruit Juice cartons, Milk cartons
 





Newspapers, Magazines and other Papers
e.g. mailshots, leaflets




Steel Cans
e.g pet food tins, soup tins, bean tins





Aluminium Cans
e.g. soft drinks cans, beer cans



 

Flexible Plastics
e.g Yoghurt Pots, Food Trays, Butter and Margarine Tubs,
Bread Wrapping, Crisp Bags, Sweet Wrappings
 
No aeroboard/polystrene
 




All items must be completely clean.

Do not include Glass, Food, Dirty Items, Sanitary waste or Textiles.
 
 
Optimise your recycling capacity 

1.   Squashing plastic bottles and placing the cap back on (the caps are also recyclable).
2.   Flattening Cardboard boxes and Tetrapaks.

 
Recycling Symbols Explained


The Green Dot

The Green Dot does NOT automatically mean that the packaging is recyclable. It signifies that the producer has made a contribution towards the recycling of packaging. Always check your optibag guidelines for the materials you can recycle.

Plastics

Identifies the type of plastic e.g PET or HDPE.

Glass

Please dispose of glass bottles and jars at your nearest bottle bank but remember to separate colours.

Recyclable Aluminium

This aluminium is suitable for recycling e.g. Coke Can.

Recyclable Steel

This steel is suitable for recycling e.g. Food Tin.

Mobius Loop

Indicates that an object is capable of being recycled - not that the object has been recycled.

Mobius Loop with percentage

Shows the percentage of recycled material contained in the product.

Wood

The Forest Stewardship Council logo identifies products which contain wood from well managed forests.

Tidyman

Dispose of this item carefully and thoughtfully. Do not litter.
This doesn’t relate to recycling, but is a reminder to be a good citizen, disposing of the item in the most appropriate manner.
